A Moving Story
Hollander Storage & Moving company has been a trusted Chicago moving company for over 130 years. In 1888, our Hollander family had just gone into business providing storage on the north side of Chicago. The Great Chicago Fire had occurred less than two decades earlier and the demand for the Hollander warehouses was strong. Shortly after, Hollander found themselves also providing transportation services for the items their clients wished to store.
Pulled by sturdy draft horses, the signature red Hollander wagons rolled through Chicago as she rose from the ashes. And in 1901, Hollander constructed their first fireproof warehouse. More than a century later, the red trucks of Hollander Storage & Moving are still on the streets of the Windy City and in November, 2018, we celebrated our 130 year anniversary!
